LaFerrari, the new limited-edition special series car from the Prancing Horse, has been unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show 2013. The HY-KERS system and a carbon-fibre chassis are just two of the innovations sported by the new arrival.

zaha hadid's transparent 'liquid glacial table' is a fluid furniture fixture resembling two interlocking puddles of clear water poured through three spouts,
frozen in time and turned upside down. the process of production perfectly captured the subtle rippling patterns that ever so slightly bend light, giving
a subtle delicate texture within the glass-like acrylic surface. the table is milled and hand polished to capture the refractions of the world that surrounds it. the project is nominated for the design museum's 'furniture' category for the sixth annual designs of the year alongside:
'100 chairs' by marni; 'a-collection' by ronan and erwan bourellec for hay; 'corniches' by ronan and erwan bouroullec for vitra; 'engineering temporality'
by studio markunpoika; 'future primitives' by muller van severen; 'gravity stool' by jolan van der wiel; 'medici chair' by konstantin grcic for mattiazzi;
're-imagined chairs' by studiomama (nina tolstrup and jack mama); 'tié paper chair' by pinwu; 'the sea chair' by studio swine & kieren jones;

japanese studio nendo is responsible for the graphic and exhibition design of the first major retrospective of internationally-known milliner
akio hirata's seventy years of work.

wanting to emphasize the carefully, handmade hats of hirata, for the overall scenography of the show, nendo has created a space that is
the antithesis of the japanese craftsman's work. 4000 white 'ghost hats' whose shapes were overseen by hirata,
float and stream through the exhibition, like a shrouded cloud. they act as ghosts or shells of the 'real' hats on display,
creating a dramatic contrast between the two. some of these 'ghost hats' act as exhibition stands, others walls, ceilings and diffusers,
distributing light throughout. the arrangement of these hats do not define any clear-cut paths, but rather present an environment in which
visitors can wander and discover hirata's creations as they wish, a means of physically experiencing the creative freedom that underlies his work.

held at the sprial garden in tokyo the exhibition will run until july 3rd, 2011.

french fashion house maison martin margiela was commissioned by hotel maison champs-elysées in paris
to reconceive the interior design of the building. the five-star estate that opened this month
is located within the historic maison de centraliens in the heart of the city of lights and will feature 57 rooms,
5 junior suites, and 6 suites. the architecture of the structure at number 8, rue jean goujon, brings forth the essence
of a french maison.

la maison champs-elysées aims to redefine what you might expect from a hotel and bring you a new lifestyle experience,
